Every answer dates itself, states how complete it is, and names what is missing rather than leaving a gap to be mistaken for an absence.

Matches words, not meanings: a business calling itself a "cofetărie" is not returned for "bakery". An empty result means "not in this index", which is not the same as "not in business".   Live verification status with the signed attestation and its position in a public hash-chained transparency log. Read the `level` field: "human" means a Tunnel employee checked legal identity, channel control and that the service is real; "automated" means machines proved only that the business controls the channels its record cites; null means neither. • Ask a business one specific question
  Answer "are they open now", "do they serve this place" or "how much notice do they need" from what the business itself authorised, with no human involved and no model in the loop. Either an answer with the fields it was read from, or an escalation. An escalation means we do not hold the fact — it is never a no, and an unlisted place in particular is "we do not know" unless the business has declared its list complete. • Ask in the buyer's own words, in their own language
  The same three answers, but you send the question as it was actually asked and the reply comes back in that language — en, ro, ru or de, with anything else answered in English. Prefer ask_business when you already know which question you are asking: it is instant and free, while this runs a model to read the question. That model only classifies the words and names the language; it never sees the business's stored data and never writes the reply. Read `outcome`: answered, needs_detail (we need one more thing from the asker), not_understood, or escalated — which we forward to the business ourselves and hand you an `escalation.ref` for. • Read the answer to a question that went to a human
  When ask_business_freeform escalates, we send the question to the business on a channel they already use and give you a reference. This reads what came back. `state` is open (not sent yet), delivered (in front of them), answered (with their own words in `answer`), undeliverable (no way to reach them, so waiting will not help) or expired. • Read a commitment, and whether it still stands
  Commitments are made with commit_order, which needs a registered agent — it is the one action here that binds a business, so it is not anonymous. This reads one back by its reference and needs no credentials. `state` is "issued" while it stands, or "repudiated" if the business has since said they cannot honour it, with their reason. • Read what a business charges
  The priced lines a business has authorised us to quote on their behalf, each with a `code`, a label, a unit and an amount. Those codes are what request_quote takes: we price exactly what you name and never work out which line a description meant, because a near-miss there is a wrong price somebody has to honour. `published` false means there is nothing to read — either they have written no card or they have not allowed prices to be named — and neither means the work is unavailable. • Price a job against a business's rate card
  Name lines from get_rate_card and we do the arithmetic. `quoted` true carries `total`, the priced `lines` and `validUntil`. A quote is a statement and not a hold: nothing is reserved, and commit_order prices the same lines again from the card at the moment it binds, so a price that changed in between is reported rather than charged. When we cannot quote — an item that is not on their card, no card at all, or a total under their own floor — the question goes to a person and you get a reference to poll with check_escalation. • Find out when a business is free
  Worked out per call against their opening hours, their notice period, their blackout dates and what is already booked — there is no stored list of free times to go stale. `known` true carries `days`, each with `slots` that say whether they are `free`, and `firstFree` for the earliest one. Pass a time to ask about one exact moment. `known` false means the business has not set up a calendar, which is "we cannot tell you" and never "they are busy". A free slot is not a hold.
